When to go?
Summer, specifically July and August are the busiest months on Croatia’s coast. It is often referred as the high season when the sun is the hottest, the sea the bluest, and lots of people decide to visit.
If you want to avoid crowds then you should definitely try and visit in the off-seasons from April to June or September to October. During those months the weather is still incredibly pleasant and warm throughout most of the country but the crowds are significantly smaller.
Getting to Croatia
By plane
Zagreb (ZAG), Zadar (ZAD), Split (SPU) and Dubrovnik (DBV) are Croatia’s biggest gateways. Besides Croatia Airlines and Lufthansa numerous European discount carriers (such as easyJet, Jet2.com, Vueling and Ryanair) serve Croatia from various European cities.
By bus

By car
The highways that connect Croatia to its neighbors (Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro) are well-marked and well-maintained. For example it takes only 2 hours to get from Ljubljana to Zagreb.
The speed limit in Croatia in urban areas is 50kmph (30 mph) unless otherwise marked, 80kmph (50 mph) on secondary roads, and 130kmph (80 mph) on highways. If you do not have your car, here are the prices for car rental.
Entry Requirements in Croatia

Other than that, E.U. member country nationals can enter Croatia with just a personal ID. However, all other foreign nationals (anyone from outside the E.U.) need a valid passport for entrance to Croatia.

Accommodation
Hotel room prices in Croatia vary considerably with location and time of year. If you are looking for a hotel accommodation check the hotels that we recommend. Hotel rates almost always include breakfast (usually a continental buffet), while private accommodations usually do not. Private accommodations are rented by individuals and that is the least expensive option. Apartments are strictly controlled, and divided into four categories, with star ratings. Currency
Although Croatia joined the EU on 1st July 2013, the official Croatian national currency is the kuna (kn). One kuna has 100 lipa. Check official kuna exchange rate list here.

Basic words like hvala (thank you), molim (please), dobar dan (good day) and živjeli (cheers) will put you in good stead with the locals!

Beaches
